I think I'm missing something on this issue. I'm hearing protests against Isreals attacks on lebannon mostly founded not on the violence itself, but simply to oppose any action the U.S. takes in the conflict. I hear stories and reports that Isreal attacks millitary and civillian targets alike. Hostpitals, airports, resturaunts, ect. But I hear absolutly nothing on palestinian zealousness in the hatred and racism against jews. The suicide bombings that are carried out in the Death-to-Isreal mantra. WTF? Why are people on both sides of this conflict saying "It's ok to kill these people, but not these ones."

You are hearing bits and pieces so I can see where it is confusing.

It is like this:
First off Hezbollah and the Palestinians are separate entities.... although somewhat linked in their goal to disrupt Israel. In this situation, it concerned Hezbollah only which does not have the long history of suicide bombers that Palestine has.

Then you have to take a look at why Hezbollah took the two Israeli soldiers captive... because Israel is holding about 1000 Hez. prisoners without any charges.

But the real outburst from most ppl evolves around the extent of violence that Israel went to. Israel has the 5th largest military in the world and it is known that Lebanon does not condone Hezbollah's action. So instead of doing the humane thing and going in with troops (in order to avoid so many Lebanese civilian deaths) they decide the heck with it and begin to use aerial bombs all over Lebanon. This resulted in many many Lebanese civilian deaths and destruction that was not necessary.

At that point, Israeli sympathy kind of went right out the window.

Btw, I am not taking sides but rather trying to explain it for you.

The fact is that the state of Israel shouldnt really exist, it was made up by a moron British Prime minister for no real reason. Before it was made, Jews, Muslims and Christians all lived together there in peace.

Now the Jews have been extremely racist and treated the Muslims in Gaza and the West bank despicably, which led to many Muslims in the area, including those in Lebanon to become equally racist and violent towards the Jews.

Both sides, Hezbollah and Israelare partly to to fault. However, Israel has fought an unfair war, targetting many civillians, around 5 times as many Lebanese have been killed than Israelis. Undoubtably some Israeli civillians have also been killed, but no-where near as many as lebanese.

In direct answer to your question, They're both killing each other.

First, I must thank you for asking a real question. Thank you! Next, from a military point of view, Israel is "winning." Israel is fighting off ex-United States rockets like cutting butter with a hot knife. The key words there are ex-United States. These rockets were only retired in the last decade or so. That should say something to you. Israel is being criticized for defending itself. Israel is using strategic rocket attacks to protect itself with minimal damage to anyone else. Secondly, Israel and its neighbors have been and will be at wars since the dawn of Israel's existence. The land Israel sits upon is just about everyone's "Holy Land." Everyone wants it, but Israel says it is going to keep it, hence the endless warring. The thing about the United States you mentioned, we have already spread our forces where we do not need them. Why in the world should we send our friends and neighbors to fight someone else's war? The back argument, we are already in it; those are our (retired and should have been destroyed) rockets! On a softer note, my cousins have just recently returned from a year in Israel and say that the news media are highly exaggerating some aspects of it all. The bottom line is that this is another pointless war over land that will never end because some smart asses running it are too cocky for there own good and some other smart asses are too stupid to destroy our retired weapons (Bush Sr.)

Forget it. If you are not there living in this conflict my advise is stay out of it.

Mideastern people have been killing each other for as long as there is recorded history. At least 5500 years of conflict.

Letting the mystery of hate suck you into a battle that is not yours is both a waste of time and a problem that will never be solved.

Hezbollah do everything to make Israel look bad from faking death scenes t o using old footage of previous wars and disasters and blaming it on Israel's bombings of Lebanon. They place missile launchers directly beside or behind schools, hospitals and apartment buildings full of women and children then cry foul when the buildings are hit along with the missiles. The sad fact is that war has casualties. Period. people will die, both the participants and innocent bystanders.

You are correct..
If every Muslim in the Mid East laid down his weapons today, there would be peace in the Mid East tomorrow...
If every Israeli in Israel laid down his weapons today, Isreal would be destroyed and all Jews murdered in less than a month..
No one with any intellectual honesty can deny this..
It seems pretty obvious as to the source of the problems..

You need to understand. Arabs and Jews are all children of Abraham. The children of Abraham know nothing but hatred, especially for each other. This age is cursed with their presence and we will not be free from their conflict until they anihilate each other.

I don't know who won the recent conflict, but I sure know who lost; the people of Lebanon. So many innocent civilians lost loved ones, homes, businesses, and futures. All because some organization wanted to take two Israeli soldiers hostage.

do you think killing 1200 lebanese peaceable civilians is a logical or reasoneable reaction ... just because of arresting 2 of israil army in military mission Israil distroy this peacable small country.
on the other side most of the isralian human loss are soldiers who do agressive actions against civilians .
palastinian people who bombed theselvs were forced to do that when israil distroy there houses and killed their familys .

just remember that israil occupys syrian Jolan and lebanese Shabaa and palestine not the opposite!!!?
