that even after years of not seeing them you still can't get them out of your head.
Did you ever get over it, how long did it take if so?

I have loved someone for like 8 years(since I met him), we had a brief relationship after knowing each other 3.5 things went bad for reasons I won't go into, but it's been like 4 years since I last seen him and I still can't stop thinking of him and dreaming of him

o yes I have and still do. I had this women who I seen off and on through high school and we driffted apart and i had a few kids with another women yet everyday my thoughts were of her well things didnt work out with the mother of my kids after 6 years we split up. I changed jobs and I hope to see her the women from hs I waited everyday and hoped that she would walk through the doors of my store and she did she told me she was married and had kids and exct....... Now let me tell you it had been 8 years and my thoughts had never drifted from her since i had last seen her,I didnt want to waste anymore time on woundering what might have been so i told her how I felt and we had an affiar she left her husband got her own place and we dated for about 4 months. I had been in love with her for ever so i wasted no time to asking her to marry me and she said yes but 2 weeks latter went back to her husband. Now I dont wounder what might have been I know I did what i could and no matter what I would not trade a moment of the time I spent with her for anything in the world. Now there is more to this but just so you know she will always be the one for me and my thoughts will always be of her but i have moved on like i told her maybe in another life time we can make it work. So to answer your question will you ever get over it I dont know but you can go on and live a happy life. But I would do anything for that women she took a space in my heart that only she can fit. I said to her on our thats conversation dont cry because its over smile because it happened.

I had a boyfriend in highschool who always said that it takes half as long as the amount of time you were with someone to get over them. Turned out that after four years with him it took no more than two weeks to stop thinking of him. Maybe you are obsessing on this person and making him or her out to be more than what they really were. Find something else to occupy your time. If you must think about them then try to remember things that help you see them for who they really are. After all, if this person was for you wouldn't they still be around? Don't give this person the satisfaction of having so much of your life even though they are not in it.

There has been girl 13 years ago who I still can't get over completely, but then such is the fate of a poet I presume.

yes and just remember that you will never get them out of your head.you will always remember this person and the good times that you too had together. The best thing to do is if you are in a new relationship is to try not to do the same things that you did with the last one.

Oh boy, have i been in this boat. I think you get to a point that you might not get over it, but learn to live with it. It's been 4 years and i still like her. :)

Well I still love that person and it has been over a year. But if your having this problem, this is a saying that I heard and when I did my eyes suddenly opened. It goes"If you can`t take someone out of your heart, then maybe it means that they belong there".

No. I hope this current crush doesn't last for years though! It is debilitating! I hope it doesn't prevent you from getting involved in other relationships and living your life to its fullest. That would be tragic!
