The same reason people enjoy watching a circus performance, because it takes us out of the everyday world and shows us a place where employees can fight their boss, where good and bad are more clear cut. Even the most skeptical cannot ignore the athletic skill that the wrestlers have and the stories may be fake but the physicality is no less for being scripted.

Yes the wrestling is fake, the outcome is pre-set by people upstairs, but you cannot argue some of the gymnastics done during a match are outstanding, true when DVD or anyone else flys out of the ring on a couple of guys all they had to do was step aside, but since it is all a "Show" they have to be taught how to catch someone, fall properly, act properly. The must successful ones have good mic ability, women must be willing to act like sluts, dress half way. Most of these guys are of a size that if they really lost their temper they would hurt someone.
It is a Man's Soap opera. Nothing more. Women are the eye candy.

First off I am 29 and have been a wresting fan most of my life! Wrestling is NOT fake!!!! How is it fake? Okay let me explain....the out comes of matches are scripted, some moves are not what they seem to be but it is in no way FAKE. Let John Cena give you the FU or let Ric Flair give you a knife edge chop--then say it is fake. If you don't understand wrestling, and I mean REALLY understand it I can see why you'd think it was FAKE. But trust me it is not. It is choreographed to a degree, yes. I have friends in the business and they get extremely upset when it is called fake. I have a question for you....If it is indeed fake, how can you explain so many REAL injuries?

How do so many adults watch soap operas (like days of our lives) and find it interesting if they know it is all fake? The WWF is no longer trying to hide the fact that it is fake. They are not trying to make it all seem like an intense soap opera. They are glorifying the fact that it is acting.

99 percent of the shows on TV are fiction. Fake. Scripted, whatever you want to call it. Wrestling just happens to be in that factor.
I still don't understand why people judge wrestling so harshly. I mean, I don't like NASCAR, but you don't see me clicking on any of the questions about NASCAR and getting a cheap 2 points by saying that their fans have no life or that "NASCAR sucks". That's just rude and disrespectful.

That's like asking why do so many people watch Star Wars or Star Trek if they know it's fake? For the fun and entertainment.

Well, How do adults find Movies interesting, then? As far as I'm concerned, that is fake, and it is all actors and actresses as well, am I wrong?

LOL! Great question! Man, I could never understand that myself. I like watching ultimate fighting, but that's because of the risk. Trying to watch wrestling is like drinking non-alcoholic beer. Why bother?

Because it's entertainment. Everyone knows Law in Order, Desperate Housewife's, and any other drama on TV is fake too but, people still watch it.
