You already have it - press your PrtScrn key to take a snapshot of your entire screen or Alt-PrtScrn to just capture the current window. Then just open your image program, or Word, Powerpoint, etc. and paste (or press Ctrl-V). There's your screenshot!

You can screen shot by following these simple steps.
1.) Look on your keyboard, generally grouped with your specialty keys above your arrow buttons there are 6-8 buttons, there should be one labeled PRTSCN, it can also be located next to the F-Keys on some keyboards.
2.) Press this button and your screen should flicker quit quickly, sometimes its unnoticeable, however, sometimes depending on the speed of the computer its very noticeable.
3.) There are two parts to this, so choose which one best suites you. If you have Photoshop 7 or higher, open it, choose to create a new document and it will automatically size the image to the size of your image, choose to open it then press CTRL + V. If you do not have Photoshop 7 or higher then go to START > ALL PROGRAMS (OR PROGRAMS) > ACCESSORIES > PAINT. Open this up, it should open a new paint screen if it doesn't, choose to open a new one, then Press CTRL + V and it will paste it for you.
4.) Save the document as an image and you should be all set.
Have a great day :)

The PrtSc button would make a screenshot of the entire screen, it will be stored in memory, the clipboard thing that let you ccopy-paste; use the Painter program in accesories to paste the whole image out.
Alt-PrtSc would do, but only an active window including the frame. If you want something like arbitrary portion of screen you need Photo Shop, GIMP, or something like that.
