I, myself, was driving to work and abot half way there i flipped on the radio- no music- simply the most horrific news. My heart goes out to all who were either there or had family, friends or significant others there.

I was at work and thought the kids that were working there were pulling a joke. At the time, I didn't know anyone there. Now, I do have a friend that was in the Pentagon and by the grace of God, lived.

I was getting ready for work. I live on the West coast, and I didn't have a radio or television on. When I got to work, I KNEW something was wrong. People were all crowded around the television at the guards' station and putting their hands to their mouths.

I can remember having a kind of sick feeling in the pit of my stomach as we learned more details about the attacks. Especially since another 9/11 anniversary is coming up, sometimes I think about the sheer terror all the victims of that horrible day must have felt. Unimaginable.

The events of that day caused both the direct and indirect suffering of so many. After 14 years with the company I had worked for, myself and 10,000 of my co-workers were all laid off, almost a year to the day after 9/11.

I was at work, in a really good mood because I was going to a really great concert that night. A co-worker, known for his joking, told me 2 planes had hit the WTC. I didn't believe him. Then I saw the bosses turning on the TV in the conference room and wondered what was going on, but still didn't think much of it. Then I heard the radio reports. My good mood quickly faded. Although I didn't know anyone there, my life has never been the same since.

I was at work, I had called a friend and he told me to turn the radio on. It was a terrible feeling not knowing what was going on . Our boss brought in a 13 inch tv and we tried to get the local channel in. It was all fuzzy and hard to see but we could make out alot. The first image was someone falling from the building. I'll never forget it and seeing Dan Rather telling minute by minute.

I was asleep and heard about the horror from a member of my family. As I watched the news about the twin towers in NY, I felt a concussion and learned that a plane had hit the Pentagon (I'm a few miles away). Then I heard about Flight 93 headed to my area and couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing.

I had actually just got up and gotten my coffee to go next door and visit with my sister from out of town and my mother. The news was just starting to report. My husband was on a road trip asleep, when I called him. It scared me to be seperated by miles like that and we were having a family reunion, so we had many on the road. My husband called me back and told us to fill every vehicle up with gas and not one gas pump in town was working
(for about 15 minutes its a hick town) how strange can that feel??
It was a wicked day and I hope it never happens again. I can only imagine the pain those in NY and all the others involved felt.

I was at work when the news came in. Might as well prepare yourself, coz it's gonna happen again. And the next time will make 9 / 11 look like a day in the park.

I was also in the car on my way to work. I heard it on the radio. I stopped to get gas and I heard it coming out of every vehicle at the pumps. in the store everyone was gathered around the t.v. It was heart wrenching. When I got to work. (in a high security building) They searched our bags. Then made everyone go home because they kept getting bomb threats. Which actually was not unusual. But on that day they took them very seriously.

I was preparing for the day in my second grade classroom. The students were arriving by bus and heading to the cafeteria when our principal had a worried look on her face and said "something terribly bad is happening." She turned on the television in the media center just outside my classroom and we stood there in disbelief at what we were watching on the screen. Students arrived and I had to find a way to deal with the situation- they knew something was wrong.
