If a parent doesn't not want to visit/see or participate in a child's life, is there anyway the law can enforce his participation in his child's life other than monetary Child support?

Not that I know of...not sure why anyone would want to do this either. Seems as though if the parent doesn't want to see their child, that if forced it would be very hard on the child. There are parents that want to see their kids and mistreat them, so I could only imagine if the parent didn't want their kids...

There are NO such laws that govern visitation....or the demand of the participation in your child's life.

I feel very sorry for your child...though...How selfish you are to deny your child your crumbs given visitation. Your child needs his father and kids are heart broken when their dad's don't visit.

I had an X husband that did that to our two children who are now 27 and 31. The 27 yr has been messed up most of his life and has always been seeking out male guidance from an authority figure. The X did what you are suggesting...a measly morsel of child support....no b-day gifts, no x mas gifts. no visitations...I begged him each year to let thee boys visit in his home with his 2 and 3 and then 4th wife......but his social life and numerous marriages were the priority.

My oldest has no respect for his father and sees thru the phony baloney..."JONES" attitude....

Think very seriously and use your BRAIN...don't let the precious moments and memories your child can give you pass you by!!!

Legally there is nothing that can force you to be a part of your childs life. I don't want to sound harsh because I don't know your circumstances.....But morally....you brought that child into this world.....that child has not done anything wrong to you...and you have a moral obligation to ensure that child is raised properly with love, emotional support and fincancial support.

And there is nothing more precious that a child's love and children can be sooo rewarding and fulfilling. You will regret your decision.

If the confirm takes it upon themselves to maintain the non-custodial from traveling/contacting the baby, the situation might desire to be desperate in a courtroom of regulation.

that's called giving up your rights which is completely sick and whoever does this will regret it. that's cruel and unusual punishment for the child/children. maybe this person should have thought about the kids before he/she had them. what a sick thing to do.

Unfortunately sweetie, I'm afraid not. They can make him pay, but they can't make him see his child. But you know what? If he doesn't, that's HIS loss and your child is probably better off without him.
