Any time you can make your engine breathe better you will increase gas mileage as well as performance.

But beware. A friend of mine added several aftermarket mileage boosters. Picked up 4% with air cleaner, 16% with an overdrive, 12% with an ignition change, another 10% with exhaust modifications, etc. Now, if he drives more than a couple of miles, the fuel tank overflows.

Yes. But don't listen to the people that claim they get 3 or more miles per gallon because it's all lies. It does help air flow and that means horse power gain not gaining a lot of MPG. You might gain some milage per gal. but a better estimate is about half to 3 quarter miles per gallon. Your engine will love it so it's a smart move. With other modifications such as a better exhaust, performance chips, keeping the carb or injections clean will add to the gain of MPG in the area of 2 to 3 miles PG more.
