Are you sure he's erect? Did you verify this?
He may be well-endowed or really turned on by the sight of all of you running around in your tight little speedos! In either case (depending on his age) he can't help it. It is also possible that he deliberately arranges himself for maximum presentation to see how many of his buddies look, which also may turn him on. In that case, shame on him! Don't stop!
Why, or why wasn't I on the swim team? Oh, yeah. I was a chubby kid. I should have been on the wrestling team!

He simply has a humongous schlong to begin with. Does that answer your underlying question? Does that confirm your feeling that you should get to know him better? He most certainly wants one or more of you to get to know HIM better.
I also notice you never mentioned what you do or see when you shower together before and after practice?
