Why do foreigners depend on American inventions, and copy American culture, but hate America?

Hegemony in our foreign policies. They percieve us as being too bossy and think we are a bully.

Japan copies American inventions, but loves America and it's culture.
The foreigners that copy American culture don't hate us.
The people the in the Middle-East use American inventions and hate our culture and alot of things about us. Some French people hate American culture, but not necessarily it's people.

There is no absolute in this matter.
Most countries have their own love/hate combinations.

Don't forget, Most of our inventions were invented by immigrants or their children. Here are some of the inventions and dicoveries.

Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky (Russian) - Helicopter

He also was the first person to invent a modern system of radio.

Henry Ford (son of Irish immigrants) - The founder of the Ford Motor Company and father of the modern assembly line used in mass production. The Model T, the worlds first mass produced
automobile.

Right now, less and less Americans are studying for Ph.D's especially in Science and Mathmatics. Most of us are going to Law school or Business school..Lawers and MBA's can make much more money than people with Ph.D's.
Only a small fraction of effort is needed for studying compared to what getting a Ph.D requires.
Who's Going for the Ph.D's? The foreign students.
They are willing to spend the time and effort it takes. When they graduate they will find jobs in the high tech sector and maybe even the defense industry. They're doing the Inventing and the discovering so we can be free to find easier jobs that pay more.

I don't want to copy American culture, because you have no Culture. Except for Obesity, a former race of slaves that make Music that there once Slave Owners buy in gigantic proportions, cheap bad Food every 100 metres, and a tendency to exploit Third world countries. Oh and the tendency to commit mass genocide of an entire race (Native American Indians). So knock yourself out, stay out of the rest of the world and we will all just get along fine.

P.S. As for "inventions" apart from the Light Bulb and a few other such brilliant ideas, very few if any inventions are actually invented in the USA. There are 6 Billion people in the world, 300 Million in the USA. You do the math, the odds of your country being the "inventors" that you claim isn't only ridiculous and un-informed, it also proves just how bad the US education system has failed its own people.

Apart from the song, they really don't need to. SOme are jealous, some don't care, and others steriotype as well. Americans aren't all obese. Why do we win many titles in the Olympics? Sure, other countries do good, but we aren't only obese. Many other countries believe that america is doing more harm than good. Most countries in contact with America benifit from it, few, if any, recieve harm. The Muslims (no offense) despise us in general. They want to kill us, because we aren't Muslims. Same americans are, but not massive amounts like in the middle-east. The reporters that talk down about President Bush are not speaking fact. The media is currupted. They interviewers who go overseas to visit iraq are threatened to talk down on the Jewish, etc, and if they dont, they will be killed. The average person on the street in Iraq tends to love our presence. Not all, but most. America does much more good than harm. Very few other countries have as much freedom as America, although our freedom is greatly decreasing.

America isn't perfect, but why hate it? Do you hate Iraq? Do you hate Canada? Do you hate the German, the French, the Brittish, The Chinese? None of them are perfect. But why us? Because it is part of your culture to be over-nationalists and hate us. We do nothing negative to you, and the slave importing, the sucking dry third world countries, etc that you all claim happened. Much of it was while we were controlled by Great Britian! Why do so many people try to get here? We have freedom or religion, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom to own and bear arms(well, not really anymore), and much much more. America isn't perfect, but neither are you.

Why spend your time looking down at us when you could be building up your own country? America has an incredibly positive influence. No, I am not brainwashed. The Liberals here, the democrats, want President Bush to fail, they want our country to weaken. They control the media. If i was brainwashed, i would be a liberal zombie. As stated above, america has problems, but it is the concept that is incredible. A free democracy where people have power. I cannot account for why we are hated, but I know that it is unfair. Look at the song above. Read it, it makes sense.


You, the ones who say we killed the native americans? The British were controlling us when the majority of it happend. Blame those guys in England, not us.

The Wars arent started by us, but that doesnt mean we cant take part in it for what we believe.

The iraquis are generally happy we came. Not all, but most. We took out Saddam. Even more would be killed if we hadn't arrived.

It is the same feeling for every time there is a group and a leader. The members of the group (In this case, the world) copy the leader, because that is what made the leader powerful, so these members also want power. But at the same time, all of the members also want to be leader, and so dislike or downright hate the leader, even more if the leader is unfair or ignorant.

Same with all circles...from company politics to Highschool social circles...follow, but hate the leader....

Um...you're sadly mistaken....most inventions and trends start in EUROPE and ASIA...not America....LOLOLOL

Besides, as a Canadian everywhere I've been people make a distinction between Americans and Canadians...saying Americans are rude and arrogant and Canadians are much more friendly...I always thought we were the same...but surprising there aren't as many similarities as I would have thought.

dude it's because they are jealous....seriously....since we live in a country where you have freedom of speech and can do basically whatever you want, as long as it's not against the law....and our country has some of the most beautiful people because we don't just have one race...in a country where there are dumb people but ALSO brilliant ones....nobody is the same and everything is different....where so many cultures are here....you can look in the phone book and order mexican food or chinese....italian....or southern....so many choices we have in America has a whole....

this is an excellent question and i will now try as best i can to answer it-- actually it is an evil ploy and a design of the devil, i am convinced that it is just another form of racism its like the prejudicy that alot of people have concerning hatred of people of color yet there are an enormous amount of tanning salons in america that the same groups of racist people go to to become shades darker. it also is the same kind of racism that causes people to be prejudice yet they are some of the same people who look for people of color to become their nanies, so my dear this is the same types of racism that foreiners have towards americans when thy profess hatred yet they want to emulate what we are about.
