i'm going to try and teach myself but just wondering what are some good techniques or methods to start off with..

LOL... for everyone up there that is talking about a computer keyboard, look at the category, its under music, so I bet it is a MUSIC keyboard, lol.
Now the advice:
I have been playing a music keyboard for years, and picked up on some songs. Just listen to the music and it will seem real easy after that, and it may help to take some online music lessons, to help you with the notes.

it depends on the person, I have been using my own computer for 8 or 9 years and still don't know the key board but I still use it ,takes a little longer but I get the job done

try listen songs carefully and then reproduce the notes that you heard on the keyboard.

Whell....first tray to tipe some small word like yes or more then tray some biger and that is it....it works to me...

heres one method that i used to learn....kno where middle c is and figure out if u wanna play the bass clef or the treble clef....tell me if it helps. k?
