i am looking for anything african,might be based on a particular person or freedom fighter or an instance of great historical value example names like lumumba, kwesi,koffi,ras, garvey,menelik etc.
please any name you give give meaning as well it doesnt matter which language it is as long as its african even jamaican names too please guyz.

I'm sorry, if you can't think of an African name for your child, then clearly your culture is more western than you think and perhaps you should reconsider.

I mean, if you going to be true to your culture then pick a name that feels good to you...not one that makes some neo-political statement. He's going to have to live with your choice too.

What about "Mendela"? That is the last name of Winnie and Nelson Mendela. The two of them did some great things for South Africa in the 1990's. I would think that the 2 of them would be excellent for someone to emmulate.

If you truly want it to have significance and meaning for you and your son, do some research on Africans that you admire and have strengths that you would hope your child could someday emulate.
