do not use creams or ointments to clean your piercings-please. Go to a studio and you can buy a product called h2ocean-mouthwash and spray. an easier way is to get sea salt from your grocery store (not the same as table or epsom salt) and a 16oz bottle of water mix 1/2 tsp of the sea salt into the bottle of water and keep this with you, when you eat, drink, smoke, etc rinse your mouth. Also do a soak of 1/4tsp to 8oz water 2x a day for 10min, and rinse with non-alcoholic mouthwash when you brush your teeth. it's possible the redness is irritation if your playing with it, please dont.

If it is new, leave it alone. Most piercings will heal by themselves as long as u only clean it when u have to.
Never use neosporin!!!!! it delays healing because it kills all bacteria, but is can cause some bacteria to stay within the piercing. Never Use Any Types of Lotions until it is healed.
Don't let peroxide to stay on the piercing for too long either, wash it off quickly.
Use only 100% natural soaps, like ivory.

Something with vitamin E will help diminish scarring. Don't neglect the possibility of infection. Use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol or peroxide, as others have suggested.

My daughter had her naval pierced and she was given an antiseptic wash from the piercing studio. So if you ever have anything else pierced go to someone who cares otherwise try savlon woundwash.

go to claires and buy a bottle of their antiseptic it will heal in some weeks the experts can tell u exacaly

Neosporin. It is an over the counter topical anti-biotic. You can get it at any drug store. Bright yellow box.
