I have a 95 honda accord in really good condition, I jumped in my car today, turned on my car, then went to turn on my AC and it was fine for a few seconds, then I heard this squeeling sound, it wasnt that loud, but you could hear it with the windows down.

Is that my fan or something?

I have enough coolant and such, I coudlnt figure out what it is!

Please help me!

change your a/c belt on your engine.

Could be number of things. The cheaper would be the belt. Get some belt spray and try it, make sure the belts are all tight.

It could also be the compressor going out. That will run a lot more to fix. I would go the belts spray first.

Is it still blowing cold? Go get a pulp thermometer and stick it in the vent and see what the out put air temp is. If it is under 50 on high, on your type of car it should be 50 or lower at the vent point.
A 10 year old car, well my friend it is about time to start hittig you for 500.00 a year in repairs.
It is a good idea to run your a/c for at least 30 minutes a week even in the winter time to keep the parts lubed and working.

Application of a small amount of bar soap will silence the belt, but this should only be done to test if the noise is coming from the belt.

No squeal, replace the belt. If still noisy, the problem may lie elsewhere.

Sounds like you belt is slipping. It could be that all you need to do is replace the belt. Or it may be that the compressor has quit working.

I'm thinking 3 things; check your heater fan motor, if not then see if your compressor is turning free. if not then it's got to be your belt. the belt will be the cheapest, then the fan motor, and then the compressor
