The town I live in has a lot of racist people in it. My boyfriend is mixed, so it's hard. People can be cruel and I see him just as any other person. I don't judge him by his color and I wish other people could do the same and see everyone as just a person.

Well I suppose it's what you mean by racist. I don't hate anyone because of the color of their skin. I also don't think we're all the same. there are cultural differences among people, not always defined by color. And I have to admit I don't like everyone or pretend that we're all the same. I grew up in a culturally diverse neighborhood. I've been known to make comments based on my experiences. Such as a certain race has no concept of personal space. Step right on my toes to grab something in front of me at the supermarket. That was my experience. And I believe it stems from their culture. Another certain race talks through movies at a theatre and yes I certainly do avoid theatres where I know alot of that particular race will be there. For my 8 bucks I want to hear the movie and not people carrying on personal conversations at unreasonable volumes. And there are absolutely other cultures I can watch a movie with that will keep their tone down and their chatter to a minimum. Sad but true. As well there are racists in all cultures, who says everyone likes me? Or that they never make an unfair determination based on the color of my skin or my presumed station in life or where I come from or how I'm dressed. Happens all the time and I'm not what one would call a minority. And on a lighter note I think sometimes we're way too serious about racism. Some things are harmful to be sure but other things are our cultural differences. And sometimes I just think things are funny. Like maybe I don't want to stop saying "spook". It's damn funny. I mean over the years I've heard many more black comedians saying "honkey" or "cracker" on television than white people saying "spook". In fact I've never heard a white person say "spook" on t.v. But if I did I would laugh.

The more question I see on this topic the more upset i get and for one reason why can't all of the people get along and why is the difference between color like white or black and who to say that one is better than the other. we are all the same in the eyes of the Lord and I am sure that god would be very upset with the people these days think that not everyone is created as one.
