No, unless you have an interpreter or a friend who speaks Russian or Ukrainian. If you need someone to translate for you there, try to arrange that before you go there. On the streets or actually everywhere people mostly speak Russian and some Ukrainian. :) Good luck!

I've been to Ukraine (not Kiev though) and very few people I met spoke English. Even at the hotel reception they hardly spoke any English at all. So I think it's unlikely you can live in Kiev and get by with English only. If you intend to live there you better try to learn Ukrainan.

You won't get too far by speaking only English. Find someone who can be your guide and speaks either Russian or Ukranian in addition to English.

If you live in London can you do without English? Why are you English people so arrogant and expect eveyone to speak you language, but you don't wanna learn theirs?
