I really hope that this is a sincere question!
Here is a sincere answer: Visually impaired persons typically use wet wipes or some other cleanser in addition to only using toilet paper. This ensures that the area is clean (women do this also!) and there is then, no need for sniffing or other such 'tests.'

My third child was born blind, and toilet training did present some interesting challenges . . . but nothing that I would care to share, with YOU. . .

I don't know but I can guess he can feel that its finished, or intuition or perhaps his guide dog leads him to the storage cupboard of toilet rolls.

He uses one of his more developed senses....'Taste' or 'Smell'. Or he gets his dog to check it for him...1 bark = for skiddies...two barks = All clear.
