Not only can it be traumatizing. It's also illegal. Check into "hostile work environment". Do you have a union? If not, get yourself a lawyer, but be prepared, you might lose your job one way or the other, they'll find a way. And if you don't it'll be hell working there. Sad, but that's how it works.
So you have two choices, you can either suck it up and live with it or live with the consequences when you decide to deal with it. Sad, but that's how it works.

And as far as Adam G's answer goes.........disgusting or not, there is no time that it is ever called for to have a stripper at a work place unless the work place is a strip club of course.

I'm surprised how many people are actually missing the point. It was NOT her boyfriend and she didn't ask for this. It was a work place.
You can actually lose your job for telling an ambiguous joke nowadays. This stuff don't fly anymore.

And it's people like SDBIOLOGIST that make laws like this necessary.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't care to see a male stripper either. Heathen that I am, however, girls are OK. In your case, though, if this is something that happened in the work place, it's extremely inappropriate, even if the bosses wife had the time of her life, and you should have some recourse. If nothing else, your state employment office can be of some help. What you do about the disturbing image, I don't know. Surely it will fade in time.

That is really wrong! It does sound like sexual harrassment to me. It's not that the human body is not beautiful. There is a time and place AND WARNING for everything. I would have definitely walked out and contacted management. I would still file a complaint with management if I were you.

Oh give me a break. Everyday I go to work I have to look at disgusting fat fawks that jiggle as they waddle down the halls in their too-tight trousers and too small blouses that show every disgusting detail of their cellulite ridden azzes and roll infested bodies. They breath hard and heavy just from walking down the hall to the break room. They smell offensive because they can't properly wash themselves. And if I were to complain I would be the one fired. At least I make an effort to look and smell presentable. I work out, shower, and dress modestly. Is that too much to ask? At least you got to see a fit body.

First of all, you should have left the room as soon as you realized what was going on. Now you should speak to your direct supervisor and explain that you are upset and that you think this was totally inappropriate and ask for assurances that this will not happen again.

What in the world are you talking about? At work? You should file a sexual harrassment suit. It is wrong. Was it for you? Is that why it was so unexpected? Eew, I'm so sorry.

Judging from your reaction.....
I assume you left as soon as possible?

You should have given some warning, so that you could choose to leave if you wanted.

In any case, you should ask a supervisor about it. Isnt that also sexual harrassment?

I am sorry that you have the residual memory.

The human body isn't discusting, I think it's unhealthy to think that way.

Although if you put yoruself in a situation where you're not comfortable, it's easy to get out of it.
