Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai, and Nagoya all fly to North America. I've always had the best luck with travel agents. If you contact one, they'll help you. There is a list of Japanese travel agents on this website.

Watch the airline special fares to Tokyo Narita (NRT) or Osaka (KIX) - those are the two most likely airports.
Your "My Yahoo" page has an option on it called "Best Fare Tracker". Check it out. Also, you may wish to route through SEA, SFO or LAX. Even with the extra flight, it may be cheaper. A quick chech of Yahoo Best Fare showed Seattle - Narita is $300 cheaper than Vancouver - Narita.
