Having a mid-life career change. Does anyone know about becoming a paralegal in Dallas? Does it pay well? Any ideas on work in that field while you learn? Maybe work that will also pay the school tuition? I already have a BSW.

If I were you I would look at the Texas Bar website and the NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) websites. Many times you can start in a law firm as a secretary or runner and they will pay you to go to school. Most community colleges offer 2 year paralegal degrees and the smaller firms don't require a BS. I think a large firm in Dallas would start a paralegal at around $35,000

Your suitable guess could be to take classes at a college interior the state the place you pick to artwork. The regulation is distinctive in each and every state, and going to a distinctive united states of america might easily be perplexing. (My pal moved from Florida to Washington state and spent a 300 and sixty 5 days attempting to discover an business enterprise that would desire to hire her; she did no longer have backing in Washington regulation, and that they weren't prepared to coach her the diversities.) i'm a paralegal with a 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days degree, no certification (which i assume makes me a criminal assistant, yet I do the comparable ingredient).
