Christmas. from the second you come home from school for the last time at the beginning of the yule holidays is the best childlike feeling. have I been good enough? has he come yet? being too excited to sleep, the smell of the tree and decorations, father christmas with his reindeer, dad getting annoyed at the lights being too tangled. the songs, people seem so friendly towards each other. its just absolute magic, most faiths have a celebration at this time (including us pagans!) so it feels very world-wide.

I'm a mum now and this is the feeling I most want to recreate for my son.

My favorite childhood memory is visiting my grandmother. We saw her almost daily, but we were always excited and happy to see her anyway. The minute my dad would pull his car into her driveway, we would open the door, run out of the car and raise to be the first indoors. She had a small wall circling a patio. We would jump atop this wall and down into her patio and race to her door. This happened everytime. Our joy and excitement to see her never failed.

It must be Christmas morning when I was 12, it was the big year for POKEMON merchandise, and Pokemon was my passion as a child. So that morning, I got everything I asked for. Pokemon everything, and good high-quality things. I was surrounded by things that promises me bragging rights and adventure. I've never had a happier moment in my life.
