I would talk to him about it. Tell him it bothers you and that you would prefer he not do it anymore. If he stops, it's a good sign he was just kidding. If he can't stop, it's probably a warning sign that you don't want to be in that relationship.

Well your parents and other females will tell you yes. In some cause its just the guy being a joker and means nothing some guys do it when there pissed and to show you how mad they are with out actually hitting its a way of expressing how made they are and shows you that they care about you enough not to actually hit you. IF your new to the relationship or your are honestly scared then leave but if your sure it was just his way of show frustration then be cautious.

One day he will hit you - and that might be to late for you to get away easy!
Pretending to hit you and make you crinch or put your
arm up in defence is a sigh that he is controlling and
angry when he does not get his way.
Be careful, speak to him about it and don't take vague answers.
If he will not stop intimidating you - leave him.
Right now there are no deep commitments like marriage
and children that could provoke him to act on his pretence
of hitting. You should not live in a relationship were you
have to worry about being abused - because this is the beginning.

It could be a sign of future things to come. He's suppose to love you but he pretends he's gonna hit you, he probably gets a big kick out of your reaction especially if he's laughing about it. The best thing you can do is sit down and talk to him about it, tell him how much it upsets you and if he's not willing to comply to your wishes. I'd let him go. This is no laughing matter and you should be worried about your future. Talk to him about it if you haven't already.

I think that it would be a good idea to closely observe him when he does this. Does it seem that he is holding himself back, and it takes an effort to restrain himself? Or does it seem that he is just joking around. Either way, if this behavior makes you feel uncomfortable, and you want to continue the relationship, you might mention, in a non-confrontational way, that this makes you uncomfortable. Whatever you do, be careful! Good luck.

i would myself, take it as a sign that he might become violent later on.. its better to be safe than sorry or dead .. id suggest you leave his sorry a*s !! and get yourself out of there before anything serious happens.. even as a joke .. that's not funny in the least.. he seems to have a warped sense of humour

if you have to ask, I would say it's time to find a new beau. Joking around about that kind of thing is NOT funny

If you were my daughter and you asked me about it, I'd say that's disrespectful behavior in the extreme and suggest you tell him not to do it all, ever, again. That would be my advice if his behavior otherwise was impeccable.
