for basic functions, no, you don't need a driver or anything. just plug it straight in. you will still be able to go back to your old mouse/keyboard, those devices will always be installed on your computer. if you want to use the special media buttons at the top, side, or bottom of the keyboard, you will need the software.

Yes you will need software if it was in the box. According to the Logitech web site each model comes with software. If your box did not have this then you can contact a represenitive at Logitech and usually it can be obtained.

yes you need a software disc but it should of came with the mouse and keyboard... If it didnt come with the software i would return it and look for a new one...
