In about 1960 (I was about 8 or 9 years old) I was in a field at night and seen a white light about 6 feet from the ground .When I moved toward it it would move away about the same distance.When I moved away it would follow me staying about the same distance from me..I got scared and ran all the way home.....

Recalling a fifty year old memory, formed when you were a young child, isn't going to result in any kind of useful images. There's no way of knowing what the light was, though in all probability it was either some kind of ball lightening, someone with a flashlight playing a prank, or a dream that you've now come to view as real.

We have several shots of green lights flying around tombstones in southern PA. Haven't been any further north than Butler, though.
