under the carpets is juit or shredded thread rag material you will have to take the seats console and trims off the car lift the carpet out tear the juit off the carpet hang the carpet over a fence put fans blowing into the car to dry the floor use air blower to force moisture out and towels to soak it up allow two days now find automotive upholstery in the phone book and ask them if they have the carpet padding and take along a sample to show them. One mold starts in the carpet pad the car smells. Use lots of spray adhesive to glue padding back on the carpet that makes it smell like a new car. You will do just fine.

Look for an air sponge. They absorb odors in the air. Also, you may want to have the upholstery cleaned at a detailer if you haven't already.

You'll need to get the interior steam cleaned. Steam cleaning it is the only way to get rid of the smell.
