an X in front of a note indicates it is a double sharp. so enharmonicly, if you see it in front of a C you would play c double sharp (D) you don't often find them these days, but usually happen in some minor keys.

If I'm understanding what you're asking correctly, it means a clap. They usually put x's in place of the note head on musical notes to signify a clapped beat.

double sharp which is actually just the next note after the one with the x in front of it. (pointless iknow...)
