I can't do anything on them. I tried flashing the bios but I can't do that without hitting spacebar. I'm at a loss, please help

Just for reference, this isn't my computer, I came in and it was broke, I have no idea what actually caused it.

you probably tried to installl a wireless mouse or keyboard... or you tried to instal over your current mouse and keyboard drivers. You really need more help than what you will get here. Take it to someone.

What OS are you using? Win95??
You need to be sure that the PC can handle the newer keyboard & mouse. Check the box, or go to the Windows web site .

If you can get any control, do not use add/remove programs, but use CONTROL PANEL, mouse & keyboard sections to remove the drivers, then restart so windows will load basic drivers.

Could even try starting in SAFE MODE - PC models vary, but F5 or F10 or F8 will get you a boot menu [Windows - F8 is default]. This will give you BASIC drivers for all things like keyboard & mouse. Then you can roll back the drivers, delete them, whatever. And if the devices work while in Safe Mode, you then know the drivers are at fault. Check www.drivers.com for updated SW for them, or the manufacturer's site.

Remember some "short-cut keys" - Windows-tab will select through active programs, navigate windows with TAB & spacebar selects check-boxes, Arrow-keys select tabs like General, Tools, etc.

Try restarting in safe mode. It actually sounds like the settings in the BIOS have changed so that the computer doesn't recognize plug and play devices. If you can't get the computer to recognize either one then you essentially don't have an input device and don't have a way to do anything. I don't know if you can use remote access to fix it or not. You may have to reinstall windows. Or it could be the motherboard.

Cut the computer off and then install the keyboard. When you restart, it may find the keyboard. If you can get the keyboard to work, then uninstall the old things and install the new ones.

You simply have a software problem.

Try reinstalling windows, to see if the keyboard and mouse are detected.

Remember you may loose files during the reinstallation process.
