You should use a soft stick type eye liner (only experienced persons are very good with liquid). On the upper eye, you want to start on the inner part closest to your nose & start with small strokes, feathering your way across, as close to the lashes as possible. You are NOT trying to draw a line, which in most cases will end up uneven & harsh looking. Think of the way you would use a pencil on paper to sketch a drawing, small strokes. This will fill in & create the line on your upper lid.

On the bottom lid, start on the outer most corner of your eyes, toward your ears, & use the same feather technique across only until you get to the middle of your eye, then stop. Take a liner brush, or eyeshadow applicator if you don't have the brush & gently smudge the eyeliner you have put under your eye, for a soft natural look.

Wa-la done & beautiful peepers!

First of all, never use the same color liner as your eyes. The two tones compete with each other and totally take away from the "pop" youre looking for. Go for a soft color with a little shimmer if you want something a little funky. (and screwups arent as obvious..lol) Apply the liner on the top lid first, from the inside of the eye, out. Then, start at the inner corner of the bottom and do the same. This gives a soft, cat-eye effect that looks adorable on ANYONE, and isnt very hard to do.

You don't want to apply too much, it looks awful. What you do, is on the eyelid, start from the inside and draw a thin line and as you go towards the outside make the line thicker, that makes your eyes have a brighter and more alert look. Under the eye, do the same thing. If you want a softer look, take an eyeshawdow brush and blend it in on both the eyelid and under your eye.
