I agree - Yahoo needs to devise better strategies for discouraging the idiot postings of the Verbal Diarrhea mob who clog up the site with irrelevant twitterings which signify nothing more than their posters' dearth of intellect.

One easy way to clear out 90% of the dross would be for Yahoo to use a spellchecker to comb through every posting and simply delete any posting with more than 1/20 words misspelt: a common feature of the rubbish posted here is that it is usually very poorly spelled.

Ok well I can see your point! Spending 50 minutes on an answer is really kind of you! Banned for a year is a little harsh I think, but yeah, the whole point of this is to help others, not for points.

Good idea. If you ask a question which is important to you and somebody writes a one-word answer like 'no' then that's very annoying. maybe a year is a bit too long. Couple of months, then allow theidiot answerers back on to see if they have learnt their lesson. But keep on writing your detailed best answers though as these kinds are very helpful.

Just think--you'll be remembered fondly as the guy who tried to help, not the idiot who was nasty or went "two points." Rewards come in many forms. Besides, nastiness may be in the eye of the beholder.

just report them, and i agree, but it too easy to get a new account, they would just create a new account and log-in again

i would limit their answers, and question, put all their answers on a watch list, to be reviewed, and give them only half the points everyone else gets for a month. also take away some of their points to
