Same idea as the last question you asked. 3/5 is more than 1/2, so round up. The nearest whole number is 4. Picture a line, with numbers on it. From negative infinity to infinity. Now, for example. The number you gave. 3 3/5. Pinpoint it, on that line. 3/5 of the way between 3 and 4. Which number would you be closest to? 4. 3/5 is more than 1/2. How can you find that out? Divide the denominator by 2. 5/2 = 2.5. If the numerator is greater than the denominator divided by 2, the fraction is greater than 1/2.

What's with all of you "do your own homework" people? So then don't give an answer, but explain how to do it. Why don't you offer some help, rather than acting like a rude, obnoxious @ss?

Okay, lets start with the term whole number. It means just that a number with no decimal or fraction leftover. Rounding is easy. Express 3/5 as a decimal, always multiply by a number that will get you close to a 100. In this case that would be 20. If we multiply both sides by 20 we would get 3/5 x 20= 60/100. Okay 60/100 is closer to 100 than it is to zero 51/100 is always round up, 49/100 is always down, 50/100 is either way. So your answer is 4.

Round to 4, because 3/5 is closer to 4 than to 3. Hope that makes sense.

4. The number is closer to 4 than it is to three. 3/5 is more than half, so that means the three is more than halfway to four. It's basic math.
