Hello,You are not the first one who hasn't read a book assignment in school.I would have preferred you to read the book but you know you are not going to so here is the one of the best things you can do.I have enclosed Notes on the book from Google.Put the html in your address box. When you are looking at the notes, try to think "outside the box." There are many different inferences in the story and you must try to do some thinking for yourself. Also I would read about the author,John Steinbeck, and some of his other shorter stories such as,"The Pearl,The Red Pony,The Wayward Bus,and Of Mice and Men." Remember, on your Sat test, you might have to write about your favorite author.John Steinbeck is a very important 20th century writer who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1940. Knowledge is the key to success!

Wow, there are a lot of differences.
You really need to read the book because your teacher is going to know. The book is way more detailed and there are more characters in the book than in the movie!
so if you have to take a test about it there will be questions about characters that arent even in the movie.

You knew you were supposed to read the book and yet you chose to watch a movie hoping to take the easy way out when most people know that Hollywood changes things to suit their purposes. Now, why do you expect a person to come along and help you figure out the differences between them.
I took English Lit when I was in high school. I read the book. However, unlike you I didn't try to substitute it and take the easy way out.... Do your own homework and perhaps if your grade isn't what you would like you may actually do your homework next time.

I happened to watch the movie and that's what made me want to read the book.
I was shocked and amazed by how much more was in the book. I thought the movie was good but the book was 110% better.
If you have time READ IT. And if you don't, I guess your grade will show it.

You should have read the book. The movie lost way too much and more than likely your teacher WILL ask you questions relating only to the book.
