like said before it depends on the rounding rules used.

in some banks.... 2 1/4 would still round to 3 (charges etc).
in math its 2.
its not an estimate. rounding is a arbitrary 'get it to whole number' or similar rounding rule...not estimation.

estimatiin is mainly in statistics or calculus.

To pass it to a fraction you must multiply 2x4, and then add 1. the answer would be 9/4.
9/4= 2.25
