From the article is says, "The journalists had been seized in Gaza City on Aug. 14 by a previously unknown group calling itself the Holy Jihad Brigades. However, senior Palestinian security officials said Sunday the name was a front for local militants, and that Palestinian authorities had known the identity of the kidnappers from the start."

There is no doubt that they knew and had some hand in the kidnappings. There are a lot of militant groups in Palestine that is true. But let us not forget something, there are two different leaderships there. The Hamas and the Fatah. The different militant groups there were formed under one of the two leaderships there. These militant groups get their marching orders from whichever leadership they belong to.
In my opinion Israel should not have given the Gaza strip back to the Palestinians and America made a mistake in pressuring Israel into doing so. When Israel done this it was all over the news that the Palestinians considered this a major victory over Israel and touted this to the whole world. They took Israels generous move as a sign of weakness, as did the rest of the militant groups in the Arab world. These militant groups decided to attack Israel from across it's two borders. As the Hezbaloh leader stated in an interview "He did not expect Israel to react as they did or he would not have ordered the kidnapping of the 2 Israeli soldiers." Wheher they have said it or not, I would bet the Hamas leaders are thinking the very same thing.
I say that Israel should take back the Gaza Strip and at the same time completly destory the militant groups in the process. Not only that but continue back destorying Hezbaloh also. Also if Israel needs our help in any way or form, including comitting our troupes to the effort so be it. I believe it is time we stand with Israel all the way, not just finacially and with millitary equipment and weapons.

Yes there is a doubt. Is the Holy Jihad Brigade part of Hamas, I didn't hear that. I think they may be some freelancers looking for a little attention. They gave up fairly easily, didn't they.
How come Fox didn't lead off their programs with the Centani kidnapping, they downplayed it. Very strange!

Is there any doubt that Israel holds many people in its jails and dungeons .I have heard Israel is not one of the places that introgates prisoners according to the geneiva convention . Could this be why we handed them some terroists from afgan and Iraq. SEEMS violence and anger only breed more violence and anger .

just because they knew who did it dont mean they had anything to do with it,what would they have to gain, they are already trying to get rid of the image of being a terrorist organization.
