According to the government, french is the first official language. Highly educated Egyptians speak french as well as English. Most of the french speakers are from Greeks, and Armenians grandparents. English now is widely spoken in the red sea, Hurghada, Luxor, Cairo and Alexandria.

French is used in EGypt. But English is more widely spread.
THere are other countries also as Morocco, Tunisea, Lebanon and Algeria, that speak French too. But French is more common there than English.

Egyptians mainly speak arabic, but English is reasonably widely spoken. The French-speaking parts of North Africa are Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

Lebanon is the only middle-eastern country where French was formerly widely spoken, although less so nowadays.

it's spoken; although it's not an official language, the only official language is arabic

p.s. egypt's in africa, not the middle east

p.p.s. no middle eastern countries speak french, a lot of northern african states do because they were originally colonised by the french
