An engagement ring is given in anticipation of a marriage. If that 'marriage' fails to take place the engagement ring goes back to the giver. That is the law and judges almost always rule that way.

The ring is a gift and not predicated on future events, even if it's called an "engagement ring". If she chooses to give it back, fine. But if she chooses to keep it, you're Simply Out of Luck, dude. She can even have it remade into a wedding ring for the guy she marries to put on her finger. Don't that rot your socks? Get over it, dude...

Why did the engagement end?
I would give mine back because either I left him, or he did something to make me leave him therefore I wouldn't want to see the ring again. Or if it was an amicable split, I would still give it back

Who ever purchased the ring keeps the ring,and if they dont want to give it back you go through the courts.

who ever bought the ring should get it. if he bought it for her she should give it back to him. but if she bought it her self then she should keep it
