I'm with you. This astrology stuff is some of the most outlandish BS ever created by humankind. It makes no logical sense at all, has no credibility or basis at all. And yet, millions of people DO believe it makes accurate predictions and swear by it. The thing is, it's easy for a skillful writer to create predictions that are vague enough and general enough that will apply to almost anyone. "Today you'll experience moments of intensity. Stand your ground!" Of course this sort of thing happens to almost everyone each day.
I think that people just have a deep need to believe in something. It overrides their critical thinking. Or they just don't engage their critical thinking when they focus on something they believe in. I once knew a woman with a Ph.D. who paid an astrologer for advice on a regular basis.

A lot of people on this page seem to agree with you. Wouldn't you love to hear from those people who can explain why they believe what they believe?
As for me, horoscopes are good indicators into human personalities. However, I wouldn't go as far to say that horoscopes rule's people' destiny.
If I looked at the zodiac signs more closely in the past, I would have had a heads up on some mistakes I have made. I only say this because people are very vague at the beginning. And, what else does a person really have to go on, if they don't get a background check, or a good personal friend to give them the scope, or the 411 on that person.
Besides, confining to an higher source what else is there, out there. I think people want to know what are you all about, at least I do. And, since we keep our most private and innermost thoughts to ourselves, an harmless birth date isn't a bad start.
Horoscopes doesn't rule my life, and it never will rule me; there is such a thing as freewill, but I do like the insightfulness that horoscopes provides.

I think they do, when it comes to love, success and the rest that follows in life. People do make a living on it. But you've got to be careful that you don't get ripped off from them, when it turns out to be wrong. I had an astro reading back in November 2005. Out of the three questions I asked, one came true. The other two were so far off. I wrote to her and asked her for more info-nothing back. So when I joined YA, I asked for horoscope here, and got Lee M., the only one to answer, to predict it for me. So far, it's too early to tell if he's right on or not. My love life won't happen until November. As for others, I just have to wait and see...

If you're say "believe" it's closer to a religion. You must have faith and ignore critics and have an "open mind". It is impossible to test a belief. If you see 10 different astrologers you will get 10 different readings.
If you're saying it is a science, then it must be able to be tested. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs. In other words, put up or shut up. There is a prize from the JREF for any one that can prove their abilities.
Some may say they don't need the money. Fine, give it to some charities. If the astrologers and psychics can do what they claim, then what do they have to fear?

It's one of the safest trivia to believe in.
Any horoscope is applicable to each person because the predictions are designed to be fairly benign and all-inclusive.

It just a way that the ppl try to take a hope from it, it has nothing to do with reality. and if you read it you will find that its a general talk so it can be translated to any situation in your life so its kind of fooling ppl.
i know alot of ppl believe in such things and i suppose they should not.

I just think it's interesting when they make sense. I don't read them at the beginning of each day, I read them the next day.
