India would better armed and being a Republic, democratic country the people would know about the whole truth about the war hence all kind of support will come to the regime!
A dictatorial Govt like Pakistan is always looked at with suspicion. Mushraf Pakistan's current leader led the Kargil war and lost!
War in my usual limited understanding never solves anything it only creates more rift and hatred.

India would be the lesser of the two loser (as nobody would really win anything in such a conflict). It has 7 times the population, 8 times the gross domestic product, its population is better educated (literacy 60% against Pakistan's 49%) and has 4 times the military spending.

If it stays conventional...then INDIA would overrun Pakistan.
If it goes to nuclear....then India would lose few million people...while pakistan would cease to exist.
