Great people in France. A little peculiar in some other countries.

I am half French. My grandparents were the most courteous, refined and intelligent people I have ever met. They came to America in 1915. My experience with the French is this. They are French, they are not American, therefore to expect them to act like americans is nonesense. People hated DeGaulle. But he was a Frenchman first, last and always. He always acted in the best interest of the French people. Compared to Germans and other Northern Europeans, the French are head and shoulders above them. Not just because of my heritage, but I have lived in Europe, Spain, German, Italy and England.

I can say this. People are people no matter where you go. A better question "would be what do you know about French culture?" That is where the difference comes from is the culture.

La culture française est très belle. To me the are proud of there language. I once asked a yahoo ? on the french yahoo. None of the responces anwsered the question, all of them gest told me the one french word i got wrong.

I don't French people personally but i think they are very nice people, with a very nice language, if u respect them they will respect u

Well, let's see ..... they talk funny -- they cook well (but eat snails -- YUK) -- they have a bizarre socialist government -- they grow great wines and some not so great -- they drive poorly, but not as poorly as the Belgians -- turned their economic policies over to the Germans (good move) -- they have lots of clever little shoppes selling clever little things, like 900 different cheeses -- they make really good breads -- they once had a navy.
all in all, they're OK, but a little rude to foreigners and each other.

it's a stereotpye but it's true, i have been to france a few times and french people are rude and arrogant. hate them.

I know very little about them, but I like them ... they gave us the Statue of Liberty.

i LOVE france, and i LOVE the culture, and the ppl, and so forth!!
