Is the public transportations system in Calgary efficient?

How is the public transportations system in Calgary. I have been to Toronto, which I think is very good. In the other hand I have been to places like Houston TX, where you really need a car to move around town.
How is it in Calgary?

Calgary has good Bus service.

It is great,,,you do not need a car. However, in extreme weather (very cold), it will be difficult.
