How do I go about getting a name removed off the title if the legal owner is a bank that hasn't gotten a payment for a few years? This is in reguards to my mother please help.

They didn't repo the car they just wrote it off as a tax write off which is what they do if you don't pay and they can't repo it cause they can't find you.

She wants to get rid of it but doesn't know how if the title is not in her name.

if the bank repo'd the car..then when it went to auction the name should of been removed..

call DMV and get a release of liability

If the legal owner is the bank then you cant. You could pay the loan off...

contact the state it was last registered in , find out the lien holder and have them sign it over
