i have family that are christains and have noticed this..
seems like they are always critical of how others are living their lives and seems like they dont have much fun because of all the strict rules they live by.
non christains seem to have a more fruitful life and experience more in life..
i may be wrong but this is my observation by compareing and noticeing.

I really don't believe that the old pagan religion is so bad. The Christians came over, and told everyone that they had to change their religion to christianity, or they would be killed. They killed the so called witches in the new England states, they wouldn't even listen to the native Americans religious beliefs, and claimed theirs was the only true religion. Then the Christians went all over the world, and preached that if you were not christian, your going straight to hell!! I totally disagree! Anyone that pushy, and condemning of another religion, is being very narrow minded to say the least! I don't have anything against any religion, but I don't want others telling me what to believe in either. There is always someone out there ready and willing to convert you, and telling you how to live, and how to worship, and I don't appreciate it! I love God, and the Goddess, and will worship however I please, and only God is the judge in the end!!!

Why is it that an overwhelming amount of religious criticism seems to come AT the Christians, and not FROM them?

So what if people have an opinion of others.
Your question and statements are exactly that, opinions of others. What makes your opinions better than someone elses?

If some people choose to live by a set of rules different than you, why should you care?
The rules you choose to live by might be strict compared to anothers views.
To each his own. Live and let live. Has a Christian ever harmed you? Why are you threatened by them?
Do you feel guilty about the way you live? Because you know it's wrong?

The rules that Christians follow do not make them perfect, as one posted earlier, but it keeps them out of trouble.
The "more experience" in life is the stuff that causes problems.

Let's experience drugs. Get high, get stupid, do something that gets you in jail.
Let's experience sex. Get laid, get pregnant at 15, get STD's, have 4 kids by 4 fathers and no hope of being off welfare. That's something to shoot for.
I could go on, but you don't care. You just want to throw stones at people that are different than you.

Typically, it is the Jehovah's Witnesses who are being criticized by a wide range of Wiccans, atheists, Trinitarians, and nationalists. Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Fanatical Christians tend not to be very well enlightened. When you're not too bright, you tend to hold onto tradition, and blindly follow what the church says. Just take a good look at the Philippines or any Latin American country. You could go there and claim to be Jesus reincarnated and you could gain a following.

But back to the main point, less enlightened people tend to be more close-minded. Religious people can't help but to have a bias toward their religion. And as someone who is not religious at all, I feel that I can look at all religions equally without bias.

I am a Christian and I admit that yes some of us are VERY uptight, but there are some, like me, who know how to have fun. Now I don't go out and get drunk or get high or any other "worldy" things, but I do go out with my friends and just have a good time. I totally agree with you that many Christians are WAY TOO critical. I mean I see that in my own church, but you must remember that not all of us are like that. I think those who are critical of others are trying to find the wrong in others to hide their own wrong doings. Hope this helps you.

More of the "older" people are more critical because church was more stricter "back then". I too have noticed this, but it is with mostly the old people. I am a Christian, and I have tons of fun with life! Non Christians may seem to have a more "fruitful" life, but in the end, the Christians are going to be the ones going to Heaven and having the times of their life.

Hope this helps :).

It's unfair to say that only Christians are critical of others, as it is also unfair to put Jehovah's Witnesses in the same category as Christians, as we are two very different religions and have very different beliefs. I am a Christian and I can have just as much fun as the next guy. We don't live by rules, we live by guidelines which aid us in finding the right path in life. Religion is by no means a disqualifier of fun. If by fun, you mean drugs, sex and rude behavior, then no, we don't have as much "fun" as you.

KalleyD, that must be because of the fact there is no one who worships Thor actively attempting to transform and push ideals onto others. i'm able to learn Thor in peace. If there have been human beings at right here pushing Thor i might supply them in simple terms as lots debate as every physique else :) Thor is incredible by utilising the way.

because some Christians are thinking they are perfect, because they are Christians, and I agree with you that the Christians are the ones that aren't having any fun. There is an old Billy Joel song, " I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints," I think that has some merit.
