All right, it's labor intensive but you said he's in a hurry! Take a bucket of hot water, and add at least 2 cups of bleach to it. Dunk the jeans in. Take a mop handle and pound the crap out of it. You can also take the jeans out and literally pound them between two rocks. This softens (and often breaks) the material fibers. Similar to stone washed but without killing your washing machine.
Remember, it is daily wear and tear and excessive washing that softens jeans.

Hi!!!! To really soften them, put in like an entire bottle of fabric softener ( Diluted with water ). This really does work, I've done it before destroying them myself. I don't know if it is a concern of yours or not, but it will make them wear much quicker!! Hope I've helped and good luck!!!

Buy a good fabric softener and use a little more than usual. Do that a couple of times and you should notice a difference.

Sandpaper 4 sure to make quick worn look. For snags and ultimate destroyed look take a sturdy needle and repeatedly scrape across the same area (use fair amount of pressure)

Sorry, I think the best thing to do would be wash them over and over.
