If pleat pants are not in style? why do i see them in stores?

Because some people will always like them. They aren't really out of style, but many people don't like the way they look.

I think that they add bulk, and can make a person appear heavier than they are. So if you are a very slender person, they may flatter you.

For men's slacks and pants, they only look right when they pleats aren't pulled out. They should lay flat and together, like they are still on the rack. If the pleats are open, then you are in the wrong size.

Pleated pants in or out really depends on your own personal style. If you are somebody who is thin from the waist under and has a broad hip line this would be ideal for you. If you were fat from the chest and thin from the waist this again would be ideal for you. However, if you were thin all over and tall and had an overall lanky look than pleated pants are just the solution as they give your body some volume and character reducing the overall under-fed thin look. Flat fronts are for people who want to carry an overall thin look as they happen to be on the fatter side.

Style defines who you are dont let the stores and what they have in them define you. Develop your own style by seeing what looks best on you and stick with that. One thing to remember is that whatever your style you should feel comfortable wearing it, carrying it, showing it and feeling positive in it.

Some pieces are "classic items" that you will always be able to find in stores because, regardless of what fashion is dictating at the moment, they look good on certain body types or are considered appropriate in the corporate world. I (you) just don't happen to want them...
Pleated pants are good on ladies and gentlemen that are very thin and they work well with layered looks and with suits.
The same could be said of shirt dresses and double breasted jackets. This year they are in...Shirt dresses are very hot right now. But a couple years ago they were considered frumpy and not many bought them. A few who understood that the center line down the torso lenghtened and slimmed still bought and looked great in them. You will always be able to find these items any year regardless of fashions tides.
Double breasted jackets were very yuck a few years ago...they started getting worn again by women and voila started showing up for men's closets.
So anyway, some pieces you will always find others just fade away...(before they come back around again...leg warmers anyone?)

Because some stores put things that aren't in style for the people who like them anyway and who want their own style. Think about it, everybody would have a lot of the same clothes if the stores only had whats in style right?

Because there are many people who aren't out to please others 24/7 by what they wear.They wear what they like and what looks good on them. It doesn't matter what the fad is to them. Thus many stores keep pleated pants in stock for the people who have their own minds and aren't afraid to be different.

People still wear things that are out of style. If stores can sell them...if there is still a demand for them...they put them on the shelves with a price tag.

I'm sure you can still buy moon boots too, but that doesn't mean they're cool.

all stores have SOMETHING that isnt instyle for the PEOPLE that arent in style...lol
