Try "Mother Tongue" by Bill Bryson. Its a well written and enjoyable book on the English language.
It might teach you some respect for it.

There are a lot of good ones out there. The best one I've found was King Fortis the Brave by LaMontagne and Snyder. It's about a pair of twins that are pulled into a magical land where they find themselves caught in the middle of a battle for control of the realm. The boy twin, Rodney, is mistaken for King Fortis, an Arthur-like figure that is to someday return in the time of the land's greatest need. It's really a great book full of humor and adventure. I recommend it to my students all the time and have had students that really hate to read come back and tell me how much they love it.

read something different and useful, try any or all of the following
- The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clason
- The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton
- The Instant Millionaire by Mark Fisher
They're all easy to read - they're all in story format. Plus you'll pickup some useful tips - things that are nice to know from an early age.

Reading all those books hasn't taught you a thing about how to spell those words or the proper use of grammar, has it?
I'd forget about all those other books, and just concentrate on your "School Books".
