Yes, there would be change, visiable change.....
First off we would change from a climate of fear to a climate of hope.........
The republicans keep you in fear in order for you to need them. You don't have to live and fear and you don't need them.
There is hope in this world, without this hope there is no point, right? The Democratic party once in back in office beging with the congress in 2006 will be the first real Checks and Balance since 2000. Accountablity for the first time in six years will return.
This means the american people will win all of them. They will protect you but without taking away your constituitional rights.
they will protect you by fighting terrorism the right way and having the respect of the world to help fight it together. We will fight it smarter, and legally, and without invading a country that has nothing to do with terrorism.
We will get back to the basics which is American Families.
Republicans keep you in fear that your greatful to be able to still have a big screen tv or SUV, when you should come out of the fear look around your city and state and realize things need to improve. Look at the troops and say, tax cuts when its a time of war isn't the best move especially because we need every cent.
This notion that taxes are not a part of being in the greatest country on earth is ridiculous and shameful and worst of selfish.
42% Of all federal dollars goes to past and current military actions.
Even if you don't care about tax cuts, the main thing that should appeal is stopping the spending policy of deficit spending that president has created, which creates a debt on every baby born...

So, it's your understanding that, under the American constitution, it's the president that makes laws? That would be wrong. Congress makes laws. If Democrats take over congress this fall, then you would see laws change. A Democrat president could veto new laws, but would have no say in creating new ones. As for policies, certainly executive branch policies would change.

Since even the democratic movers and shakers - including Kerry - have stated that they would have had us in Iraq, too - I don't think that much would change in that department. You'll see a lot of small businesses go under, that's just a given when we have a democrat in office. Other than that, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the next crisis is, because you know there will be one. We'll just have to wait it out and be as supportive as we can of the office of the president - no matter who wins. Once you're in that position, I believe you find that party differences don't carry nearly as much weight as they seem to on the street.

Remember how good it was back in the 1990's when Bill Clinton was President? No meaningless war....no tax breaks for the wealthy.....gas was relatively cheap in comparison to what it is now....employment was at a high....that's what we'll get with a Democratic president supported by a Democratic Congress. Now, if we can just survive the remainder of King George's administration.

It depends in large part on what happens THIS November, when we elect the next House of Representatives, plus 1/3rd of the Senate. It is crucial that you be aware of this. If we keep the current House of Representatives, the next President is going to be stymied in any attempts to clean up the current problems. If it's a Democratic President, he'll very likely be attacked by the House the way that Clinton was, and perhaps impeached.
It's absolutely critical to national security that we vote the right-wingers among the Republicans out of the House of Representatives this November.
Hmm. I can't help but notice that Marcel's response (above) contains a terrorist threat against the United States. Reported.
If he or she is a U.S. citizen, I believe that post is a crime. It'll be interesting to find out. Marcel, you might want to edit the terrorism out of your post as quickly as you can, and never say anything this stupid again.

Hi:
The Presedent's party is meaningless. If they can ever work together should be your question. In all likelihood, you know that will net happen. The congrees and the house have much to do with issues which arise in the United States (which is the divided states at times) outcomes.
Stay well

If we got a Democratic President, which I am confident we will after Bush showed off how wonderful Republicans truly are, it would be great. Of course the whole Iraq invasion thing would change, with what I think as an almost guaranteed swift to immediate Iraq pullout. GO DEMS!

I guess I would look foward to paying more of my money to taxes just like when President Clinton was in office. See more welfare programs, more jobs leave for Mexico like when Clinton signed NAFTA, that was a good screwing of America.

Absolutley. I believe that if we vote in a democratic president then many of the laws and policies that the Bush regime has implented illegally will be corrected. We will go back to abiding by the original constitution, not what Bush has turned it into.

First off, I would have a huge party and everybody here is invited minus republicans.
As far as actual legislation to fix:
1. Begin to undo the destruction to FDR's New Deal that the republicans have been reversing for the past 6 years.
2. Get rid of the unconstitutional Faith-Based Initiatives that Bush has actually woven into the Homeland security dept... turn them back into humanitarian aid like they are suppose to be.
3. Alter the Patriot Act thereby making it constiutional.
4. Get G.Bay hearings instead of them in limbo that the Supreme Court recently ruled was a Geneva Conv. violation
5. Get rid of Bush's tax cuts for the rich.
6. Bring the Federal Pell Grant back up to the amount it was in 2000.
.
.
.
I could actually go on and on for awhile.
