Support "equal protection under the law" - every American, regardless of race, sex, sexual orientation, or religion is given the exact same rights, including the right to marry.

Use the National Guard for it's proper purpose - guarding OUR nation, not someone else's.

Completely revamp the election system - full public funding of elections, change the electoral college to a percentage-based system (as Coragryph mentioned), easier ballot access for 3rd parties, etc.

1. A Berlin-like wall completely around the southern border, complete with a no-man's land with a moat and land mines.

2. I would put out an APB on ALL illegal aliens in this country, and would have them detained at Guantanamo Bay as suspected terrorists. After about 5 years, I'd deport them.

3. Border babies (also known as "Jackpot Babies") would not automatically be given American citizenship like they are now.
Also, I would: a. Stop ALL welfare, free schooling, free medical and any other state-funded program for anyone who could not prove legal status. b. If an legal alien receives a green card, then he/she would have 5 years to become a citizen or they would be deported, married, with children or not!
c. The Mexican border would be manned, in addition to the Border Patrol, with National Guard troops from each of the border states, and with orders to shoot on sight, with only one verbal warning.

This is an invasion, people. Wake UP America!!!!!

PS: To FadiP, above...Nice sentiment, Tovaritch! Lenin and Stalin would be proud!

America has its share of problems so I would........

1) Change the whole educational system. I would make it more individualized and make the main focus preparing people for the real world. Because about 99.9 % of the garbage that you learn you will NEVER need for anything.Oh and I wouldn't make it last SO many years , cuz if they are going to make us pay for our own retirements they'd better give us ample time to do it in.

2) College should be free for everyone .I'm sure that in some round about way my tax dollars contribute to it to.

3)Create more & better jobs. There aren't engouh jobs or engouh decent jobs out there to help people make their ends meet or that provide medical or dental benefits.

1. Mandate all vehicles sold in the US be flex-fuel by 2010 as well as require every fuel station in the US to install a minimum of 1 alternative fuel option. This would decrease or eliminate our dependence on the Middle East for any reason, would improve our environmental health, and would give a tremendous boost to American farmers.
2. Complete illegalize corporate lobbying of governmental officials-it makes our politicians beholden to corporations, rather that to citizens
3. Deport all illegal immigrants--If you choose to not abide by our laws, you cannot stay here. You have already demonstrated this by trespassing on our soil to begin with.

The legal tier- I would drop completely the federal congressional bills and mandates and rewrite a rational and sane legal system where justice will be maintained and freedom will be for all, not legislation based on religious values, but scientific and human freedom, because God does'nt need law, we do.

The Social Tier- That would improve with time and education.

Defense- Cut spending and keep military leaders in our nation defending it's borders and internal ops.- Prosecute clandestine and black ops when discovered.

FREEMARKET---LESS FINES, MORE FREEDOM

Change the electoral college to be pro-rated by percentage vote within the state, rather than all or nothing by state.

Eliminate political parties, and make every candidate run as an individual.

Eliminate "marriage" as a legal term (leaving it solely to religions), and require anyone who wanted secular legal benefits to get a civil union.
