This past year has been difficult for our family. In September of last year my Father in law was shot while mowing his own lawn. Having done nothing but show kindness to this particular person who shot him, has left a family with a big hole in our lives. The trial hasn't even begun yet but at least we are to the point he will be tried as an adult. Would we try and get revenge...no. It is not our place, position to do that. However our hearts are over-loaded with grief for such a great man to us all. The male who did this will face trial and will do some time.
Whether he gets to the point of being sorrowful for his actions is yet to unfold or not. According to his attitude, actions and behavior problems stemming before this, I seriously doubt if he can feel anything but hate.
"Vengeance is Mine Saith the Lord." It is the Lord that will deal with him also when it is his time to die. Only he knows when that will be.
In the mean time we will grieve a loss of one we loved so dearly.

NO...I've had horrible experiences throughout my life, but I've never thought of taking revenge. I channel all that energy into more productive things like school, a new project, or just trying new things. And if I'm not doing it for myself, I would never do it for nobody else. It's really sad to lose someone that you really love, but there's always a reason for everything that happens. You just have to find what that reason is, and accept that part of that was to lose someone.

Well I honestly don't know ... I think it might depend upon who and how ... a loved one yes I understand but you have so many loved ones If it was an accident or not how would I avenge them? would I get caught mainly would I feel bad and would God not approve on how I would do it .... anyway a lot of variables on that one

Revenge is sweet and swift justice is even sweeter. The one commodity on this planet that we have a serious abundance of is humanity. Now, if like me, you regard humanity as simply top dog in the animal kingdom then the death of such is nought. Therefore kill the perpetrators.

Since my precious precious father died suddenly and unexpectedly when we were visiting, and died way too young, I found myself reflexively hating people for being older than he is. Given that gut reaction, I imagine that people who've got someone they can blame for the death of their loved one would frequently have revenge fantasies.

However, as Ghandi said "an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind." And, as I say, the vengence you take might hurt many innocent people as much as you were harmed.

Actually I speak from experience and I was planning to but after getting more spiritually enlightened I realised that I didnt want to become "dark" and chose forgiveness.
I believe in "what goes around comes around".
Its tempting though isnt it?

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Your time will come and you won't notice it has happened. It worked for me. Good always comes out on top

When it comes to people I love I'd fight to the death. I have no cares about myself, but I am fiercly loyal and when someone hurts someone I care about, I don't forget and I don't forgive...so yes...I would

Vengeance helps no one. I would fight for the ones I love, and sacrifice anything for them, but once they're gone, I'd stop fighting for them and start fighting for my sanity.
