Good price but be warned -- this generation of Camaro was rife with rear diff. problems, weak transmissions, poor door and hinge design, substandard interior materials and underwelming build quality. The 5.0 V8 is a very solid engine and should go nearly 200,000 miles with routine maintenance. The car LOOKS like a million bucks when is kept up and you will never lose it in a parking lot. Can't beat the price providing it runs OK. Note that there are TONS of aftermarket parts available which will allow you to build one from the ground up if need be, (see www.obschevy.com/catalogs.htm).
If you have the cash and don't get frustrated easy jump in.

your insurance wont go up at all your insurance is based off of a base car, they dont look under the car to see whats done with it. I have a 350 tpi camaro that i built up to 400 hp and my insurance is still the same. You can soupe it up buit you should get a 350 tpi or something bigger first

the price is decent and there are tons of upgrades and motor swaps---its all up to you.
heres the real answer about the insurance---
-------ONCE AGAIN RESEARCH BEFORE ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS--------
MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES DON'T CARE WHAT CAR YOU DRIVE......THE ARE MORE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR CREDIT HISTORY AND YOUR MOTOR VEHICLE RECORD.....THEY DON'T CARE ANYMORE ABOUT THE COLOR OF YOUR CAR OR THE MODS DONE TO IT UNLESS YOU ARE ASKING FOR COLLECTORS INSURANCE, HISTORICAL, SHOW CAR, OR STREET ROD.
THEY GET YOUR RATE FROM THIS INFORMATION---YOU ONLY GET DISCOUNT BASED UPON THE SAFETY OPTIONS ON YOUR VEHICLE AND INCREASE IF YOU TELL THEM ABOUT THE DVD PLAYERS YOU INSTALLED (THEY DONT LIKE THEM). IF YOUR UNDER THE AGE OF 25---THATS WHEN IT MATTERS WHAT CAR YOU DRIVE.......APPARENTLY US YOUNGER PEOPLE ARE MORE IRRESPONSIBLE THEN THE BLIND OLD GUY WITH PARKINSONS STILL DRIVING AT THE AGE OF 90.
