You can buy a scientific calculator from almost any store that carries office supplies, including Walmart and Target. If you need a graphing calculator, check places such as Best Buy and Staples. If you have a bit of time before you'll need to use it, browse Amazon to get the best selection and price.

Good luck!

Office Max, Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples, Circut City, any college campus bookstore. The scientific ones are around $36, and the scientific graphic ones are around $130.

Lots of good answers here, so I'll recommend a temporary alternative.

If you are using MS Windows, you may already have one on your computer that you can use in the meantime.

Windows 2000 and Windows XP both have one built in.
Not sure about other versions of Windows.

Search for:
Calc.exe

Or from the RUN menu enter:
calc

If it's there, it should start to run immediately.

It has a scientific mode with binary/hex/octal arithmetic, logs, sines, cosines, etc., and it's very useful sometimes.

For example, it gives the sine of 15 degrees as:
0.25881904510252076234889883762405

The accuracy is superior to some hand-held calculators.

You can get one at any store that sells calculators. TI is probably the best. And a TI-83 is what most college math classes require.

I've even seen them in pharmacy stores like Walgreens. Texas Instruments is a brand I'd recommend (83-plus and up are the best ones).

You can find them at Staples, Radio Shack, or Amazon.com, among many other places. Basically, anywhere handheld electronics or office supplies are sold.
