The new players like Cannavaro, Emerson, Diarra for this season were brought to bring up the level of defense of the team.
Real Madrid had problems the last 3 seasons mainly for a weak defense and midfield that had too much trouble defending against fast or strong teams, I would have to say they are pretty much the best they could get for defensive purposes.
About Van Nistelrooy, it's a very good player, and again last season Real Madrid had problems when Ronaldo was injured and no one could played in his position, and the team had problems scoring goals.
So yes, all these player will bring up the team by having a more balanced team that won't suffer too easy on the defensive side, and the offensive won't be a problem with the players they already have.
Line up: Casillas
Salgado
Ramos
Cannavaro
Roberto Carlos
Emmerson
Diarra
Beckham (sometimes Cicinho)
Raul (sometimes Guti)
Cassano (sometimes Robinho or Guti)
Van Nistelroy (Ronaldo)
....Give them time to show what they can do, because most of the line up will be new and they have to know each other better to bring the best for the team..

Yes, i do. Fabio Cannavaro is a great defense, he just finished to be champion of the world with Italy, with Emerson Capello will try to give balance to the team, thing in which failed the last couches and Ruud Van............ is a great forward, he will bring lot of goals with him, you ll see. Diarra is also a great player, a very important player for France in the last world cup.

Cannavaro, is amazing... his defense will definitely help them, and Nistelrooy is a great striker that should be able to find the net many times with that team. I've never really liked Emerson or Diarra.

The player are good, cannavaro is the best defender in the world. diarra is a good player, but i think essien is better. emerson in a not a really good player for madrid. i think they should have bring fernando gago from boca. or mascherano from corinthians. Ruud is a great striker, but he is 30. he can play maybe two good seasons and then....? i think they made a mistake. buying ruud. they need someone like tevez. fast, skillful. only time will tell if the new players were a good addition to the bernabeu squad.

van nistelrooy is a great striker. besides fabio cannavaro is on of the best defenders. i think this helps them up.
