lots of people are. i saw a special on dateline or something about it, in many other cultures (for example indians) it is totally normal, it's just slightly stigmatized in US for example.
a friend of mine is 28 also and lives at home. he was able to buy a new porsche recently i guess cause he doesn't pay rent.
he doesn't pay for food or anything.
but, he does a lot of the fixing up around the house & garden & his momma does the laundry.
he also cooks (gourmet!) his mother is not home very much so he has the place to himself a lot. it's slightly weird but he had a lot of free cash so i guess he's happy.
my studio apartment is so dinky and i kind of wish i was at home, but my mother would drive me insane. literally.
so: if you get along w/ your family, why not??

me, i 'm 29 and i can't afford my own place either, they way i look at it is thing could be a lot worse like being homeless which i was for a while and at least you've got a job which is more than what i and many others have so you may not be as fortunate as some but your a lot better off than others, by the way I'm male, Gemini, a bit lazy but I'm a good cook and i know how to wash up and which end of the hoover is used for sucking up the dirt(most models anyway) just in case your ever looking for a flatmate, take care;o)

No but I did have a few 'false starts' when I was in my twenties, I moved out and back home again several times before finally moving out for good when I was 27.
I think it's a good idea to try and move out if you've not tried it, how about renting with a couple of friends?

A lot of people still live at home due to those same reasons. You have parents and Grandparents to thank for pushing the house prices up and creating the problem.
I'm lucky. I live on the coast in a 2 bedroom house.

I left home at 17 because I had to! But my brother is 25 and still living at home but he pays he's way. And he keeps our mother company aswell.
So I wouldn't worry too much 'cos he has a job so could afford it but he is a home bird... too scared of the BIG BAD world!!! As long as you still dont scrounge off your mother and father, do you???
Anyway, horses for courses as they say...

as long as you are not taking advantage of your parents, in other words, you pay rent and help out around the house, and you're parents don't mind you being there, i don't think it's horrible that you still live at home. since it sounds like you don't have many other obligations other than to take care of yourself, i would recommend going to college and getting a degree in what you enjoy. a degree would open many windows of oppurtunities for your, especially to be able to make more money. if you already have a degree, instead of looking for a second job, look for a better job. since your landlords are your parents, time is on your side.
